Sulk

  • Feb. 4th, 2009 at 4:51 PM
me?
So today sucked.  All day.  Here's why:

6:30 AM: One of our drivers called to tell us that the sub never showed up for work and that said driver had to begin the route in five minutes.  Darlene called said driver and learned that he had forgotten, but that he'd be there in 10 minutes.  In the meantime, she sent another driver to start the route.

6:55 AM: The City called and demanded to know where their bus was, because it was supposed to have been there at 6:45.  I radioed the driver and he said he thought he had to be there at 7:00 but that he was almost there.  I relayed the message to the City.

7:05 AM: The bus still isn't there to pick up the City!  I try to hail the driver on the radio, but he refuses to respond.

7:10 AM: Another bus in the area says the charter bus arrived at its destination.  Thank God.

7:20 AM: Calls start coming in to ask where route 12 (the late driver) is.

7:30 AM: The same woman has now called three times asking about route 12.

8:00 AM: I inform Karen (the motorcoach manager) that her driver was late to the City.  She snaps at me and claims she told him about the time change.  Okay.  Whatever.

8:15 AM: Tom informs me I will be attending a meeting about some huge event in April we're doing the busing for.

8:20 AM: Elaine hands me a stack of prices to be entered into the computer and asks me to tell her when I've finished.

8:30 AM: Tom pulls Darlene and I into a pre-meeting meeting.

9:00 AM: The actual meeting begins.

9:50 AM: Darlene leaves to go to a funeral.

10:45 AM: The actual meeting ends.  I returned to my desk to find a huge stack of notes.

10:50 AM: Karen tells me the motorcoach information is okay to print for the following day.  I start to enter the school bus information and learn that there are two unconfirmed drivers.  (Thanks, Darlene.)  Of course, neither driver is picking up his phone.

11:00 AM: Lunch time!

11:10 AM: I finally clock out and spend my entire lunch hour working on entering Elaine's data into the computer.

12:00 PM: As I near completion, Elaine hands me a second stack of data to be entered, then goes to lunch.

1:30 PM: I inform Elaine that all data is entered.  She should be okay to do whatever she needs done.  Shortly afterwards, both drivers call to confirm that they will be able to do their school bus trips.

2:00 PM: I finally finish Elaine's stupid projects and then I begin entering post-trip data into the computer.  This is typically the first thing I do every morning and should be done by like 9:00.

2:30 PM: Route time.

3:00 PM: I finish entering the post-trip data.  Finally!

3:20 PM: Karen points to a charter bus (motorcoach) that never left and was due somewhere at 3:00 PM.  She wants to know when I would have noticed.  (Just a note: it was supposed to leave at 2:30.  I would like to mention again that that is route time!)

3:28 PM: I clock out and hurry to drive to the mechanic to have my oil changed.

4:15 PM: I come home.  Chad skipped school again today because he played World of Warcraft all freaking night.  So I decide to sulk and get caught up on RPs.

4:45 PM: He decides to "lay down for a second" which means I can either sulk somewhere else or remain in the bedroom (where it's warm) but be very, very quiet.

5:10 PM: I really hate today.  Really.

Projects that need to be completed at work (in order of importance):
Mileage Surveys: Reorganize Onalaska and figure out why DeSoto is so screwed up.  Due: January 28)
Student List: Enter the remaining two grades into the computer.  Due: February 2
(These two projects should take no time at all...if I could get to them.)
Routes for the big April Conference  Due: February 7
Blue Cards for January  Due: February 13

HAAAAAAATE.
